Forms needed for tryouts:
Completed application (online, click the link below)
2 teacher recommendation forms from your CURRENT teachers (not connections or specials teachers)
Updated physical & insurance form on PRIVIT
All paperwork on PRIVIT must be completed as well (transportation acknowledgement,
sudden cardiac arrest form, GHSA heat policy form, and GHSA concussion form)

Bow preferred for clinics. Bow REQUIRED for tryout day!

Important Dates
Tryout material page will go live April 16th. You must come to tryouts already knowing the material!
Clinic Days: April 21st-23rd (Current 6th & 7th graders: 2:30-4, Current 5th graders: 3:30-5)
Tryout Day: April 24th (2:30 until done. Candidates will get tryout group & time on the 23rd)

Thursday, April 23rd: Material Review Day, Candidates receive tryout group number and time
No nail polish, no gum, no jewelry Per GHSA rules. Review above information and tryout packet for attire.

Tryout Day:
Tryout groups and times will be posted on this page on Thursday, April 23rd.
Candidates will need to arrive 15 minutes prior to their tryout time in the event tryouts are running early.
No parents, teachers, siblings, friends, etc will be allowed in the gym during tryouts. These are closed tryouts.
Results will be posted on this page by April 25th at noon. DO NOT CONTACT COACHES.

Disclaimers (PLEASE READ):
- Candidates must currently be enrolled at Youth Middle School, one of the feeder elementary schools (Youth, Atha Road, or Walnut Grove), or have an approved permissive transfer for the upcoming school year.
- All candidates must be passing 4 out of 5 classes with connections averaged together as 1 class. 3rd and 4th quarter grades are averaged together, so we will evaluate based on 1st & 2nd quarter grades. Once the team is picked and the school year is over, coaches will check grades again.
- The previous year's placement on the YMS Cheer team does not guarantee placement on the next year's squad.
- All YMS Cheer events are MANDATORY. Do not tryout if you cannot commit to the full season!
